Stay informed
Member announcements are sent by email. Reply to express interest in an opportunity or suggest an idea. Include what you would like to contribute or learn and your availability.
For help reaching a programme team, contact @mcmasterfilm on Instagram.
Choose how you take part
Watch MFPC films, listen to Ticket Stub Talks, attend announced activities or respond to auditions and team opportunities. Directors may approach general members first when recruiting smaller teams for their committee.
Participation is optional. Choose what fits your interests and availability, then agree the responsibilities and preparation with the director before taking on a role.
Ask for feedback
You can request an individual mentorship meeting about a script or filmmaking question. Reply to an MFPC announcement with a brief description and relevant material. Meetings depend on the adviser’s availability and experience.
Mentorship provides advice and feedback. You remain responsible for carrying out your project and arranging its people, funding and equipment.
Board roles
Applying to the Board is a separate, optional process for applicants with demonstrated relevant experience. It involves a substantial ongoing commitment and requires selection by the president.
MFPC in 2026/27
MFPC is continuing independently and is not ratified with the McMaster Students Union (MSU) for the 2026/27 academic year.
Bring a campus project
MFPC connects students interested in film, photography and editing with projects across campus. Members can meet collaborators, gain practical experience and build a portfolio through projects with other clubs and student groups. If you’re involved in a project that could interest MFPC members, you’re welcome to bring it to the club.
After you submit
Once you submit the membership form, your general membership is guaranteed. You do not need a Board position to take part.
Read the member guide for ways to participate. Choose a first step: watch our films, listen to Ticket Stub Talks or respond to an announced audition or team opportunity. For questions or help reaching a programme team, contact @mcmasterfilm on Instagram.
