Presidents
Coordinate the society’s work and support directors across programmes.
Responsibilities
- Arrange Board meetings, gather decision questions and record decisions, reasons and next steps.
- Help directors find people, equipment, rooms and other available resources.
- Discuss spending jointly with Operations and approve external deals and commitments before agreement.
- Agree presidential work allocations, including membership records and welcoming members.
Planning the work
Start by agreeing the work and the people involved:
- Agree availability, individual leads and support for shared presidential work.
- Gather director plans, resource needs and decisions for the next Board discussion.
- Record each accepted owner, next step and handoff, then check people have the information they need.
Keeping work moving
Review progress and dependencies with directors. Bring the whole Board together to agree the shared schedule. When a plan changes, agree support, a feasible scope or a revised sequence and pass the decision to affected directors.
Working with other teams
Coordinate with the teams involved:
- Operations Director: Pass agreed dates, spending decisions and practical next steps for the calendar and records.
- Radio Show Director: Arrange station introductions and onboarding support, with access handled separately.
- Partnership & Development Director: Review proposed terms, obligations and resources before an external agreement is made.
Decisions and support
Resolve cross-team dependencies and requests needing presidential approval. Confirm who has accepted each responsibility and the next action. Keep access arrangements and private Board records in their appropriate private channels.
Leaving a useful handoff
Maintain the role map, agreed work allocations, decisions, programme and project status, open agreements and working-file locations. Preserve completed work and contributor credits with their evidence.
Taking part
For questions about the club or help reaching a programme team, contact MFPC.
Directors may approach general members first when recruiting smaller teams for their committee. Agree your responsibilities and availability before taking on a role.
