Partnership & Development Director

Develops relationships with clubs, organizations, filmmakers, venues and other partners. Writes professional correspondence and seeks local sponsors for MFPC programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead sponsorship work around club needs and credible offers.
  • Research suitable organisations, initiate conversations and develop proposals.
  • Explore local press, recognition and suitable outside festivals using verified club and film information.
  • Bring deals and commitments to the co-presidents for approval before agreement.

Planning the work

Start by agreeing the work and the people involved:

  • Review activity and sponsorship needs with directors and the co-presidents.
  • Prepare a factual needs brief, research suitable organisations and agree team support.
  • Track conversations and proposed terms, with a clear next action for each relationship.

Keeping work moving

Distinguish researched leads, active conversations, proposals, approved agreements and support received. Give the co-presidents the support offered, conditions, timing, costs and delivery obligations. After approval, agree owners for each obligation and track delivery. Outside festival entries must be free or covered by secured support.

Working with other teams

Coordinate with the teams involved:

  • Presidents: Present proposed terms, costs, restrictions and commitments for approval.
  • Festival Director: Provide the amount and conditions of secured support for the club’s own event planning.
  • Marketing Director: Supply approved organisation names, logos, credit wording and publicity obligations.
  • Production Director: Check film readiness, permissions and credits for outside festival opportunities.

Decisions and support

Escalate contracts, money, exclusivity, changed obligations and undeliverable benefits before agreement. Coordinate financial and practical details with Operations. The Festival Director leads MFPC’s own festival.

Leaving a useful handoff

Preserve the relationship tracker, approved agreements, completed obligations and open follow-ups. Arrange correspondence and account access separately.

Taking part

Recruited members may help with research, correspondence and proposal materials for defined club partnerships.

Directors may approach general members first when recruiting smaller teams for their committee. Agree your responsibilities and availability before taking on a role.
