Radio Show Director
Leads MFPC’s radio programme, including editorial direction, episode planning, the recording schedule and coordination with the station.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the regular hosting roster and arrange recording sessions and coverage.
- Coordinate guest requests, preparation and confirmed recording details.
- Oversee day-to-day production, final quality checks and delivery to the station.
- Keep episode records and credits accurate to the people’s actual contributions.
Planning the work
Start by agreeing the work and the people involved:
- Arrange the station introduction, onboarding and separate access handoff with presidential support.
- Agree the hosting roster, availability, coverage and production responsibilities.
- Confirm recording and delivery arrangements with the station and prepare the next programme with the team.
Keeping work moving
Coordinate availability, preparation and guest requests; keep confirmations distinct from requests or waitlist places. Check coverage when availability changes. Review the final programme and complete station delivery, then maintain the episode record. Sunday’s broadcast schedule is separate from recording appointments.
Working with other teams
Coordinate with the teams involved:
- Presidents: Coordinate station introductions, onboarding support and unresolved access or continuity needs.
- Marketing Director: Provide confirmed programme information, episode links and truthful participation credits.
- Production Director: Agree specific film-related contributions and the materials or preparation needed.
Decisions and support
Raise coverage, access, recording or delivery problems early with the appropriate station contact and presidential support. Confirm station requirements directly. Credit the people who actually hosted or contributed to each episode.
Leaving a useful handoff
Maintain the roster, confirmed arrangements, production status, delivery record and episode credits. Handle credentials and individual onboarding details through separate private access handoffs.
Taking part
Members can respond to announced opportunities to research films, prepare discussion topics or help produce an episode.
Directors may approach general members first when recruiting smaller teams for their committee. Agree your responsibilities and availability before taking on a role.
